Ventilation, drainage, gas, electrical capacity, water supply, and floor levels should be confirmed before installation begins.

A practical commercial kitchen layout usually follows the product journey. Goods arrive, move into dry, chilled, or frozen storage, then pass to preparation, cooking, service, and washing. The exact path differs by concept, but the principle remains useful: every movement should have a purpose.

Kitchen design also needs to consider future menu development. A restaurant may add breakfast service, delivery production, catering orders, or specialty beverages after launch. Leaving planned utility capacity and adaptable work areas can make future upgrades more straightforward. It is often more effective to design for controlled growth than to reshape the entire back-of-house operation later.

Choose Equipment by Capacity, Build Quality, and Support

Commercial equipment is selected for daily use, so capacity should reflect real operational demand. A unit that is too small can slow production during peak periods. A much larger unit can consume valuable floor space and utilities without adding useful output. The best fit is usually equipment sized for the intended service volume with a sensible operating margin.
